Lawrence A. Duprey is a Director at CMMB Ltd. and CMMB Securities Limited. He is also the
Executive Chairman of CL Financial Limited, the holding
company for more than 62 companies with operations in the
Caribbean and North, South and Central America.
Mr. Duprey spent the earlier part of his life in Canada and
the United States where he did his first degree (B. Comm.)
and some post-graduate work in Business Administration. He
worked with a global engineering company where he gained
experience in Project Management as well as mergers and
acquisitions.
He returned to Trinidad to assist in the turn around of
Colonial Life Insurance Company ( Trinidad) Limited and on
the death in 1988 of the then founder and Chairman, Cyril
Duprey, Lawrence Duprey was appointed Chairman. Since he has
been with the company, it has grown to over eight billion
Trinidad dollars in assets (over US$ 1 billion). Mr. Duprey
has been very active in developing the savings potential of
the people of the region through home ownership and
financial instruments, which provide financial security. He
was awarded the Chaconia Medal (Gold) at the 1999 Trinidad
and Tobago Independence Day Awards.
